The filming of Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani
was done in Gulmarg region of North Kashmir but was attributed to Manali of Himachal Pradesh in the movie’s scenes due to which discontentment was raised by the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. Last year when the movie was being shot in Gulmarg, Mr. Abdullah had visited and met the crew.

The Chief Minster expressing his annoyance tweeted in the micro blogging site, tweeter “It is irritating when we roll out the red carpet and facilitate the shoot only to have people believe its Manali #YJHD.”

Mr. Abdullah also wanted to know whether Karan Johar, the producer had given any credit at all to the state for shooting the scenes of the movie there. He said, “If anyone has seen the movie can you tell me whether they have at least mentioned the state in the credits (opening or closing) #YJHD.”

Tweeting on the other subject, Omar Abdullah questioned the viewers of the movie whether the state was credited or not (opening or closing). “For those of the holiday makers and vacationers who are planning to visit Manali because of what you saw in #YJHD, except for the Span resort and the temple all was Gulmarg,” he said admiring the picturesque beauty of Kashmir.
But now the makers of ‘YJHD’ have elucidated that the state has been mentioned in the opening credits of the film and it look like that all the snivel and the tinge that the CM raised against the ‘injustice’ was not really needed.

“The name of the entire crew in Kashmir along with the top people like Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Tourism Minister GA Mir and Inspector General of Police SM Sahal have been clearly mentioned in the opening credit of the movie,” a spoke person from the Dharma Productions confirmed.

Omar had asked all the officials in Gulmarg to widen all possible cooperation that they could do to facilitate film makers during the shoot, worried to have the Bollywood back in the valley for shooting.
Various scenes of this movie were shot in several locations of the valley including beautiful Gulmarg and enchanting Pahalgam.

Gulmarg which is blessed with such a beautiful setting ever imaginable by human, the thrilling Gondola Ride at a height of 12, 239 feet above the sea level is simply outstanding from where you can view the maximum parts of the valley. Part of the movie was shot in Kangdoori which is one of the world’s renowned ski resort placed in Gulmarg. The amazing phenomenon about this place is that the temperatures can fall up to minus 10 degree Celsius.

The movie was also shot in the heavenly gratified beauty of Pahalgam which is more than a hill station and is a growing rejuvenation spot. It is like a heaven for nature lovers, honeymooners, and trekkers owing to its splendid beauty. The azure bluish sky and the lavish green surrounding at the backdrop of snow flurried mountain of this place is what attracts not only tourists but also noted film makers to its vicinity.

Yesterday on 30 April some of the Kashmir regions had witnessed election and had done polling successfully, On 7th May Polls take place in seven states and will cover 64 constituencies. States on the list are Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.
