and perfectionist, Aamir Khan landed on
Srinagar on Wednesday and attended the famed vegetable gardens of the gorgeous
Dal Lake. Aamir visited Kashmir after a gap of 10 years, last time he visited
the paradise on earth was in 1999 for the shooting of Mann (1999).
After landing on the airport in Srinagar, he star straightly
went to the Sarfarawu area in Kangan region to shoot an exceptional video for
‘Incredible India’ in the dwelling of local artist Ghulam Nabi Khatana. As the
word of his visit spread in the area, the entire area was thronged by his fans
and admirers who were trying hard to take a glimpse amidst the horde of tight
security that bound them.
Khan is the brand ambassador of the Incredible India brand
which promotes India as the most favored tourist destination across the globe.
During his visit to the Dal Lake where he relished the
pleasant ride on Shikara, he said “This place is stunning and wonderful along
with the people who are very nice and hospitable. Last time I visited the
valley was in 1999 for the shooting of Mann.”
He was so impressed with the gorgeous beauty along with the
residents of the valley, that he hoped the Indian and other filmmaker to return
to this paradise ‘like the good old times’ when large part of movies and their
songs were shot in the beautiful vicinity of this place.
Apart from his regular schedule he also showed interest in
other places including the famed tourist resort of Sonamarg, Memer, Gund and
Kangan along with a visit to the private school, riverside location and the
floating vegetable gardens clearly indicate a filming of next Bollywood biggie
in the valley.
“Filmmaker Nasir
Husain (my uncle) used to shoot his films in Kashmir, I hope for Bollywood to
return here for shooting like the old times. I hope that the time has come and
I wish more and more filmmakers to shoot their movies in the valley. Once you
visit Kashmir there’s no need to visit any other place as it is really a
heaven”, he added.
Some parts of his Bollywood blockbuster “3 Idiots” were
screened in the Ladakh region but due to some reasons he couldn’t come to the
valley. According to him, the team of “3 Idiots” straightly went to Leh for the
filming because of which he did not get an opportunity to visit the valley.
He said that he feels on moon whenever he visits Kashmir
owing to its scenic look and eternal beauty which has never failed to charm a
visitor and filmmakers.
“Kashmir is really a paradise and the natural beauty acts as
natural sets for shooting for the filmmakers of Bollywood”, adds the 46 year
old actor.
“There was a time when entire Bollywood filmmakers used to
visit the valley either for a scene shoot or a song shoots of their film, I
hope for the return of the same time”.
